1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Amu services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Description of Services

Amu provides preliminary ESA service screening, accounts, pet profiles, and evaluation payments. Clinical care is provided separately by a licensed clinician through SimplePractice. The process includes:

• Browser-based preliminary screening for adults 18 and older in Texas with dogs or cats
• Access after payment to request an appointment in SimplePractice
• Independent clinician evaluation; documentation only when clinically appropriate
• Account and billing support

3. Eligibility

To use our services, you must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding contracts. ESA letters are issued only after a proper clinical assessment by a licensed mental health professional determines that you qualify.

4. Payment and Billing

• An evaluation is a one-time payment: $159 USD for the Standard tier or $199 USD for the Expedited tier, covering up to two pets documented in the same evaluation and letter, plus $59 USD for each third or fourth pet. Any applicable discount and taxes are shown before payment.
• There is no subscription and nothing renews. A reassessment is a separate one-time payment.
• The tier sets the time within which the clinician reaches a decision after your intake is complete: 2–3 business days (Monday to Friday) for Standard, 24 hours for Expedited. It does not change the clinical decision or guarantee a letter.
• Refunds are available within 30 days of purchase, whether or not the appointment has taken place. Contact hello@amu.pet to request a refund.
• Landlord verification is included. When a housing provider or its screening service asks the clinician to verify a letter, the clinician responds within 2 business days at no charge. The clinician does not disclose a diagnosis, notarize documents or make statements under penalty of perjury.
• Acceptance guarantee: if a housing provider rejects a clinician-issued letter within 60 days of its issue date and the clinician’s verification does not resolve the rejection, Amu refunds the full payment. Send the provider’s written rejection to hello@amu.pet within 60 days of the rejection. Filing a complaint with HUD or any agency is not required. The guarantee does not cover rejections based on the animal’s conduct, breed or size rules that apply to assistance animals, information you provided that was inaccurate, or housing that is exempt from fair-housing law.

5. ESA Letter Validity

A clinician-issued letter may support a request for a reasonable accommodation in eligible housing. Screening and payment do not guarantee an ESA letter, acceptance, or a fee waiver. Requirements depend on your circumstances and applicable law. An ESA letter does not give a pet service-animal access to public places or airlines.

6. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful information during assessments
• Not misuse or fraudulently represent your ESA letter
• Keep your account credentials secure
• Notify us of any changes to your contact information

7. Limitation of Liability

Amu provides services "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of our services, including but not limited to denial of housing accommodations or other benefits.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, and materials on our website are the property of Amu and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce or distribute our content without permission.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by email or through our website. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
