Last updated: October 21, 2026

Sign in with Google
If you choose Sign in with Google, Google sends our sign-in provider, Clerk, your name, email address, profile picture and a Google account identifier. We request only the basic openid, email and profile scopes. We do not ask for access to your Gmail, Drive, Contacts, Calendar or any other Google data.
We use this information only to create your Amu account, sign you in, show your name in the app and contact you about your account. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it beyond the service providers described in Information Sharing below.
You can revoke Amu's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page, and you can ask us to delete your account and the Google data we hold by emailing hello@amu.pet.
Amu's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. Clinical Records and Amu Screening
Clinical intake, appointments, communications with your clinician and any clinician-issued ESA letter are handled in SimplePractice under your provider's privacy notices. Amu provides account, payment and support functions. Using SimplePractice does not establish HIPAA compliance for the Amu application.
New preliminary screening answers are processed in your browser and are not sent to Amu’s server, the clinician, analytics, or session replay. Answers stay in page memory for your current visit only: they are not saved to this browser’s storage, and they are gone when you close or reload the page.
Before sign-in, health answers are cleared and replaced by a short-lived preliminary result and your pet’s name and type. After you sign in, Amu saves that result and creates a basic pet profile, then clears the remaining local handoff after the server confirms success. A failed save retains only the result and pet details for retry for up to one hour. Clear saved progress or clear this site’s browser data to remove an unfinished draft. Unfinished answers do not follow you to another browser or device.
The preliminary result and letter-issued status can reveal health-related information even without the answers. They remain private account information with restricted administrative access. A false letter-issued status means no issued letter is recorded; it does not record a clinical rejection.
Earlier versions may have retained screening answers or uploaded documents. The new flow does not itself erase historical records or backups. Contact hello@amu.pet for access, correction, or deletion requests. We retain account, payment, and security records as needed to provide the service and meet applicable legal obligations; clinical-record requests should also be directed to your clinician.
6. Data Security
We use access controls and encryption to protect information. These measures do not eliminate every risk. Do not send health details or ESA letters through ordinary support email; use your clinician's SimplePractice portal for clinical communications.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal information
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Opt-out of marketing communications
- Request a copy of your data
